I actually just announced to my empty room “oh, shit’s gonna get exciting” when discovering the Google lookup formula for use in my Google doc spreadsheet library.

FOR EXAMPLE: =GoogleLookup("Bill Bryson"; "nationality") fills in with American.
=GoogleLookup("The World According to Garp"; "publication") fills in 1978

Is it quicker than using my built-in Google bar? Not strictly. But it is geekier!

Now to figure out how to correct “American” to “USian”!

What I was actually looking to do was every time I type John Irving, it to auto-fill in man USian European descent. If you know a way to make that happen, do tell.
=GoogleLookup("A11"; "publication") would also be useful.
