47. “Jaws,” Peter Benchley

Summary: Dang this shark is big and hungry!

This first half of this book was good. I took notes on how not to get eaten by sharks. And then all the sudden, Ellen Brody is seducing Matt Hooper, and then she’s NOT anymore, and this is not what I signed on to read, but if you are going to make me read for fifty pages about her social climbing and wet underpants, at least make it important to the A plot somehow. It’s important in that it gives Benchley an excuse to kill Hooper in the end (spoiler!), but damn.
