12. “The Alchemist”, Paulo Coelho

This feel-good book is a quick read. I found it really moving, despite myself. Basically, G-d is everywhere and “all you have to do is contemplate a simple grain of sand, and you will see in it all the marvels of creation” (129).

I was also incredibly impressed by the passage at the top of 160 which included five quotation marks (“‘”)! I was very excited by it. I may have missed the point of the book?

I’m still working on “The Cider House Rules”, but I recently became entranced by a certain MTV “reality” TV show, so it’s slow going.
